Mount Riley Pinot Noir (New Zealand)
The grapes that were used for this wine were sourced from multiple vineyard sites throughout the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. By using multiple vineyard parcels they are able to produce a complex and complete wine with great fruit character and depth of flavour. Medium maceration on the skin to obtain optimal aromas in scent and flavour. Aged for 9 months in French barriques.
Medium red with garnet and ruby hues. On the bouquet more darkly fruited than normal for us with plenty of black cherry and plum along with hints of dried herbs. An approachable, elegant wine with soft tannin, delicious bright red fruit flavours and great length of flavour.
Great as an aperitif or with chicken, salmon, game, red meat and pasta.
